Catalogue Countdown Day 18

Today I am featuring the BOOTIFUL OCCASSIONS stamp set, plus a little tip to help with image stamps that include a sentiment on the same stamp.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is RETRO FRESH. I love the combination of Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla. I also love the teeny polka dot and hexagonal patterns on the papers.

I began by Heat embossing the boot image with white embossing powder.
This was them sponged with Melon Mambo (it works really well with the Retro Fresh colours) and Coastal Cabana ink.
I mounted the DSP onto Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, attached some Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, plus an Antique brad. This panel was then mounted onto the layered card blank using Stampin Dimensionals to add a third dimension. The 'Love you' sentiment (SWEET SENTIMENTS stamp set) and die cut with the Ticket Duo ticket punch.

Now for that tip:

If you have stamps that have both an image and a sentiment, it can be a little tedious masking to ensure you only stamp the image OR the sentiment. You can, if you have Stampin Write Markers, just use the markers, but in my experience that doesn't always leave a clean and crisp image,

SO

If you have a steady hand and a scalpel or rubber scissors, you can carefully cut between the image and the sentiment. I only do this on clear mount stamps, after you have applied the stamps sticker so you can easily identify the piece of stamp that has been amputated from the image.

Why Bother?

because it saves time and makes the stamp set more versatile.

Try it on a retired stamp set first to get your technique to a good standard.
