Stamp Set Showcase week 2 (4)

Today is another Mod Podge Day here at The Warren

So Day 2 of the Stampset Showcase this week for

KINDA ECLECTIC Stamp Set

So old paint brushes or craft sponges at the ready

This is a cute little frame with a black card insert ready for your chalk board thoughts, stamps etc.

To make the frame you need to trim a piece of Kraft cardstock to 10.5cms x 30cms (so you can make x2 of these for each sheet of A4 cardstock).
Get out your Simply Scored Tool with the Metric plate, and score at 12cms & 24cms.
The smallest panel needs to be made into an envelope flap. So with the short side  and smallest panel at the top, marke lightly with a pencil at 5.25cms and draw a diagonal line to the corners of the nearest score lines, and trim to create the triangle top.
Now with the Triangle still at the top, you need to make a rectangular aperture in the bottom panel.
Draw. diagonal lines lightly with a pencil. The aperture neds to be 5cms (wide) x 7.5cms (high)

Draw the rectangle, centering it around the middle cross, in pencil. Once you are happy, use your trimmer or scalpel to cut out the aperture.

Next you need to randomly stamp the middle and triangular flap with the following inks:

Sunburst Stamp - Hellow Honey ink
Leaf Stamp  - Mossy Meadow ink
Berry Stamp- Blackberry Bliss ink

Now for the mod podge.

Trim a piece of Typeset DSP to 10.5cms x 12cms

If you have read the past few days bolig, you will know how to randomly stamp the Typeset Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the same combination of inks and stamps as above. You may even have enough left over from the past few days projects.
Apply Gloss Mod Podge to the aperture section of the frame, and lay on the  stamped DSP panel. Using a pair of paper  snips of a scalpel, cut the diagonals of the aperture.

Apply Mod Podge to the DSP and leave to dry. Fortunately, Mod Podge dries really quickly, but it will give you the chance to stamp and punch your butterflies that are in the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.

I used a combination of Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow for my butterflies. I then stamped the sentiment stamp in the stamp set using White Stazon ink on a scrap of Kraft cardstock. Die cut using one of the die in the Project Life Cards & Cards & Labels Framelits Die set.
apply mod Podge to the sentiment label.

Once the front of the frame is dry, turn it over and fold the cut sections of the DSP  to the back of the frame. Trim off excess DSP. Use the Mod Podge to adhere the DSP to the back of the panel. and adhere the first layer of Mod Podge to the entire reverse side of the  Frame.

Leave to dry, Whilst waiting, give your butterflies and sentiment label a second coat of Mod Podge,
Make some bows using a combination of Venetian crochet trim and Linen Thread.
Trim a piece of Basic Black cardstock to 10cms x 11.5cms. This is the time to add any detail to your 'chalk board', or leave it blank so it can be used as a picture frame.

Once the reverse side of the panel is dry, you need to put the first coat of Mod Podge to the front side of the Kraft card frame. You need to apply a total of 3 or 4 coats of Mod Podge to the front and back of the frame to leave you with a high gloss varnish finish.

Decorate around the aperture with butterflies, lace trim, linen thread, Antique Brads, Basic Pearls and Basic Rhinestones.

Finally, fold up the frame and use Sticky Strip to adhere the triangular flap to the back panel of the frame (do not stock down the sides of the frame or you will not be able to change your chalk board sentiment/photo.
Insert the Basic Black cardstock into the frame.
I present these on Miniature Easels , which are easily found by doing a Google search, You can also source your sponge applicators for applying Mod Podge online too.

I hope you like todays project and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
