Today's card was a quick card make at a recent craft fair, the customer wanted a sympathy/thinking of you card. I had only taken a few stamp sets with me for the make and takes whilst at the three day show, so had to come up with a suitable card from what I had available.
As I made this card, I realised I had forgotten to take along any embellishments! and so I made sure I had those for the remaining 2 days the craft fair was running. But the customer was happy, even if I knew wasn't as happy with it as I could have been,
For those of you that haven't see how to mat cardstock using punches. It is quite simple when you know how, and here is the how
- Stamp your sentiment on cardstock
- Punch the sentiment out (here I have used the Decorative Label Punch.
- Punch 2 further labels (e.g. Decorative Label) in coloured cardstock of your choice.
- Now cut one of the punch coloured cardstock along the vertical
- Repeat steo 4, but this time cut the label on the vertical.
- Next, using Tombow (liquid glue) stick the left and right pieces to the stamped and punched sentiment (on the reverse side) leaving a little edge so the coloured cardstock is visible (matting).
- Lastly repeat step 6 but this time stick the pieces to the top and bottom of the sentiment label.
- You may need to trim away the small 'points' on the punched label pieces so it looks tidy.
This technique works for all punches that are identical on the vertical and the horizontal.
