Sale A Bration 2015 Week 5 Day 4

Butterfly Flutterby

That's what I have named this card. Quick and fun to make if you don't mind a little inky messiness!
And here is your list for today's card:

Stamp Set:
And Many More

Die & Punch's:
Butterfly Framelits
Banner Punch

TIEF:
Honeycomb

Cardstock:
Lost Lagoon
Whisper White
White Velum

Classic Ink Pads:
Lost Lagoon
Blackberry Bliss
Tangelo Twist

Accessories:
Basic Rhinestones

Adhesives:
Tombow Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue
Glue Dots
SNAIL adhesive
Stampin Dimensionals

Tools:
Stampin Sponges
Big Shot
Texture Boutique

Begin by Trimming a Piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock to 14.3 cms x 10 cms
Run this through your Big Shot or Texture Boutique using the Honeycomb TIEF (Dry Embossing).
I tend to have my Big Shot and Texture Boutique out at the same time so I don't have to keep swapping the Magnetic Platform for the universal Platform. It works for me, and I didn't mind the modest cost of the Texture Boutique as it saves me precious time having both out, especially if I am doing a big run of the same card!

Next you need to run the medium sized Butterfly Framelit through the Big Shot using Whisper White cardstock. You need tow of these butteflies. The best results are with a Magnetic Platform, but if you don't have one. tape your framelit in place using some Washi Tape or low tack Masking Tape, or even the sticky part of a post-it note.
There is a trick to make  life easy for yourself if you don't fancy having a job to poke all those teeny bits out of the die cut, so I have found the following 'Sandwhich' layers works best for me as most of the teeny bits stock to the Tumble Dryer Sheet:

1 - Magnetic Platform
2 - Cutting Plate
3 - Tumble Dryer Sheet cut roughly to size
4 - Cardstock
5 - Framelit (cutting blade facing down)
6 Cutting Plate

Run that through your Big Shot a couple of times and almost all of the hard work will have been done for you. Give it a go and let me know how you get on?

Now we get to sponging. Trim a piece of Whisper White Cardstock just wide enough to fit between the central section of the honeycomb panel as seen in the photo (I have left the card in the workshop and as it is snowing, I have bailed out of going out to retrieve the card! sorry)
Sponge this panel with a combination of the 3 inks, allowing them to blend into one another too.
Before inking up with a new colour, you also need to sponge the butterflies in the same way. your inks are:

Lost Lagoon,
Blackberry Bliss
Tangelo Twist

Next, you need to trim a piece of white Vellum to the same size as your Sponged Panel and adhere the vellum on top of the sponged panel using SNAIL adhesive. This should give a lovely subtleness to the sponged panel.
Mount this panel onto the Dry Embossed Panel using Stampin Dimensionals. Mount this onto your card blank using tiny amounts of Tombow Glue (do nor use PVA or similar glue as it will warp your cardstock).
Mount your Butterflies onto the Vellum Panel.
Finish by decorating the butterflies with Basic Rhinestones, and then stamp your sentiment from one of the stamps in the And Many More stamp set, using the ink of your choice. Trim the cardstock to a strip measuring 1 cm wide & create banner ends using the Banner Punch and inserting the cardstock through the top of the punch, guiding it between the punch's cutting blades. Repeat with the opposite end.
Sponge the sentiment using residual ink on the sponge
Trim a strip of Lost Lagoon card stock to 1.5 cms wide. Create a Banner end to one end of this strip. Mount the Sentiment label on top of the Lost Lagoon strip leaving a border around the sentiment, and then create a banner end to the opposite end of the lost lagoon strip as above, leaving a similar spacing around the sentiment (see the photo below).
Mount your label onto the card using Glue Dots ... and there you have a beautiful card in less than 20-30 minutes.
