Stamp Set Showcase 2015 Pleasant Poppies & Blender Pen Technique

This is such a cool technique for a beautiful stamp set.

To help you on your way with the technique used in today's card, I have a uTube Video for you to watch, showing you how to water colour with ink pads and Blender Pens

And here ismy card for today using the Technique using the  Pleasant Poppies Stamp Set
I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the card base
Whisper White cardstock for the card front
White Embossing Powder to heat emboss the stamp image
and Rose Red & Old Olive Classic Ink Pads for the faux watercolour
And Basic Black Classic Ink Pad for the sentiment and centers of the poppies
You will also need a blender pen and a heat tool. Versamark Ink Pad and White Embossing Powder

At the bottom of this post you will see images of the products I have used today, if you click on these items, it will take you straight to the product in my online store.
When ordering, you can check out without creating a profile if you would prefer to have no direct contact from me (with the exception of delivery queries)

But I am a sweetie and never use hard sell techniques with customers as I believe the products sell themselves!
Watch this video before proceeding further so you know how the technique works

Your first step is to make your card blank using Crumb Cake cardstock. Then trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock 0.5 cm smaller than the front of your card blank.
Mount your stamp onto a large acrylic block and ink it up with Versamark ink
Dust with White Embossing Powder and heat set using your Heat Tool.
Now begin colouring in your stamp. I find the easiest way is to squish your ink pad so that some ink is transferred from the pad to the lid. Then you can pick up ink from the lid using your blender pen,
If you are doing large area's, then a drop of ink from the same colour re-inker (e.g. Rose Red) into the lid of the ink pad. Any excess ink will simply absorb back into the ink pad when you close the lid.
Because this is such a beautiful stamp set, I treat is simply as it needs little else.

Simply stamp your sentiment onto a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock and attach this to the lower third of the card front.
Apply Stampin Dimensionals to the reverse of the card front and mount it onto your card blank.
