Bokeh Technique & Big On You Photopolymer Stamp Set

Firstly, I would like to thank all of you for your well wishes for our little OAP Westie, Megan, who underwent 7 hours of surgery on her ear canals yesterday.
She was so distressed at the Hospital, that they allowed us to bring her home today, but has to go back tomorrow morning to be sedated for her ear canals/wounds to be washed out.  For now she is on strong painkillers and rest.

And I must have subconsciously been thinking about washing Megans Bed, because the card I made today co-ordinates with her bed lol!!!

Now I was rather silly today, as I didn't check the retiring list before making todays card, Had I done, I would have known that the Crisp Cantaloupe Re-Inker is now sold out never to retutn!!
So on my products list below, I have substituted it for Calypso Coral ink instead.

Here are all of todays products. To view or order them simply click on the product icon for more information
Table built using Product Table Builder by The Crafty Owl - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

And here is my little Megan bless her, she is well and truly feeling sorry for herself.
Sorry I just had to share!

Now I have previously shown you a Bokeh Technique using a sponged background that was over stamped with varying various sized circles of Craft White Ink applied with a sponge dauber,
For todays card, the only thing that is different is the background itself. I have used Water Colour Cardstock and created a watercolor background using an Aqua Painter Brush and Inks

Begin by Trimming your card stock layers as follows:
Create a Card Blank (base) using Melon Mambo Cardstock. Trim to 21 cms x  14.8 cms
Score the long side at 10.5 cms, fold and make a nice sharp edge using a Bone Folder.
Trim a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 14.3 cms x 10 cms
Finally Trim a piece of Watercolour Paper to  13.8 cms x 9.5 cms
You are going to work on the Water Colour Paper
Take 2 small containers (Artists paint trays, but ramekins would do)
Fill your Aqua Painter with water and liveraly wet one side of the paper by brushing water from your aquapainter over its surface.
Next pick up some Calypso Coral Ink and drop inks onto the cardstock using the brush.
Repeat with the Melon Mambo Ink.
If your paper is wet enough, the ink will easily spread, if it isn't add more water to the paper.
You are looking to have colour all over the card stock with the two inks blending in places.
Leave the watercolour paper to dry.
I was too impatient for this today as we needed to go and pick Megan up from the Animal Hospital, so I used my Heat Tool to dry the cardstock instead.
Once the cardstock is dry, you are going to use Whisper White Craft Ink Pad and a Sponge Dauber to create the Bokeh effect.
I used 4 things to create my Bokeh
1. Stampin Up! Circles Mask
2. sponge dauber
3. a larger circle by punching a 1 3/4" Circle using scrap cardstock
4. a pencil with a small rubber (eraser) on the top
Remember to work in odd numbers as it is more pleasing to the eye, and you are less likely to have a tendency to start counting hehe
Load up your sponge dauber with the white craft ink and colour in 3 of the largest circles (your home made mask)
Then ink up quite a lot of the circles from the Stampin Up" Circle Mask,
Then use the residual ink on your Sponge Dauber to make more circles,
And finish with the rubber (eraser) on your pencil.
Stamp your BIG ON YOU sentiment using Early Espresso Ink directly onto the background you just created.
Knot the centre of a piece of 7/8" Cotton Ribbon and secure on the back of your card front using
Fast Fuse Adhesive. To break the adhesive easily, run your strip of adhesive, and before lifting the Fast Fuse from the card stock, you want to make a 'Tick Mark' which will break the adhesive,
Your final job is to layer up the cardstock and mount it on your card blank, Add a Few Basic Rhinestones and you are done!!
Have fun creating ... and remember to share your work so I can see what you have made :)
Happy Stampin
