Today I had my copy of Impressions Magazine drop through my letterbox.
Impressions is the magazine is exclusive to Stampin Up! Demonstrators, and packed full of creative ideas not in the Annual Catalogues, or Seasonal Catalogues. Even better, is that there is extra projects available on the Stampin Up Demonstrator Website.
And why am I telling you all this?
Well that would be because todays project is cased from the Impressions magazine,
I have kept all the key elements of the original card, but substituted the stamp set to Crazy About You stamp set from the seasonal catalogue.
But what attracted me to this particular project, is the technique used to create the background.
It uses Crystal Effects mixed with ink, and brushed onto the cardstock and them sprinkled liberally with glitter.

For my followers in the UK, I hope you had a wonderful May Day Bank Holiday? The weather held off long enough for our neighbours to make Steve & I salivate profusely with the smell of the BBQ.
I had a productive day, having made 40 gift bags in preparation of my Swaps for Stampin Up!'s regional training event in Telford in a couple of weeks,
I promise I will share them with you closer to the day.
And now for that tutorial
Begin by trimming your Whisper White Cardstock to size.
Next, pour a little Chrystal Effects in a small container, add a couple of drops of ink, I used Melon Mambo Re-Inker. Mix with a paintbrush and paint this onto your cardstock,
Immediately sprinkle the glaze with Dazzling Diamond Glitter - and plenty of it. Put to one side for a short time to dry.
Whilst you are waiting for the cardstock to dry, you can get on with the other elements of the card.
Firstly, Heat Emboss the above flower from the Crazy About You Stamp Set, by inking up the stamp with Versamark ink onto Whisper White cardstock, dust with Gold Embossing Powder and shake off the excess, and heat set with a heat tool.Punch the flower out using the 1 3/4" scallop circle punch.
Stamp your sentiment of choice from the Crazy About You Stamp Set using Rich Razzelberry Classic Ink Pad onto Whisper White cardstock. Trim the tag to 1cm wide by just over the length of the sentiment, and create banner ends using the Banner Punch.
Trim a snort piece of Gold Foiled Vellum to 1.5 cm side. and create banner ends using the same punch. Cut a piece of Gold Sequin Trim, and cut a Tea Lace Doily in half
Layer up all of these elements onto the glittered cardstock as shown in the photo. Pop the Flower Up using Stampin Dimensionals.
