Reason for the Season Gold Embossed Card

Can you believe that another Friday is here? Where are the days and weeks going too
The nights are drawing in and before we know it, it will be time to get the Christmas Decorations out
So today, I am getting you in the spirit of things with this lovely Gold Embossed Christmas Card that is super quick and simple to make with very few supplies needed. So it is a great card to make an impact for your family and friends, without taking up too much of your precious time.

I love heat embossing, especially with gold and silver embossing powder as it reminds me of the invitation cards my Dad used to make on his Treadle Print Machine that was in out garage. I am not sure if I have shared this memory with you before or not, but when I was just the same age as my grandchildren (4 years and upwards), I would stand on the footplate of the press, and dad would power the press as my speed, so I could take a printed invite out of the machine, and the blank card in the press before the plates came together. If is only as an adult that you realise that this must have slowed down my Dad's work, as he must have significantly slowed down the speed of this manual press to prevent my fingers getting trapped, but he was happy to do it, with plenty of giggles and excitement on my part.

But that is my Dad, he taught me how to strip down and rebuild an engine as a young girl too lol

So here are the products you will need to CASE this card.

Then scroll down a little further for today's tutorial

  1. Create your 6" square Card Base using the Thicker A4 Whisper White Cardstock by trimming it to 6" x 30 ". Score the long side at 6" using either your Scoring Tool or the scoring blade on your Stampin Trimmer.
  2. Trim a piece of the Cherry Cobbler Dotty paper from the Merry Moment Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) to 14.6 cms x 14.6 cms, and adhere this to your card base using Fast Fuse Adhesive.
  3. Trim a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock to 12 cms x 12cms. before stamping this with Versamark ink, you will need to remove any static from the cardstock by wiping the surface with your Embossing Buddy.
  4. Take the Poinsettia stamp from Reason for the Season Stamp Set, and randomly stamp the Cherry Cobbler cardstock using Versamark ink. Dust with Gold Embossing Powder, and tap off any excess powder by giving a sharp flick on the back of the cardstock. Use you Heat Tool to melt the embossing powder.
  5. Mat (layer) the embossed cardstock onto a piece of Gold Foiled Cardstock measuring 12.4 cms x 12.4 cms. Attach some Stampin Dimensionals to the back of the panel, and mount onto the front of your card base.
  6. Stamp and heat emboss a single Poinsettia flower using Gold Embossing powder onto a scrap of cherry Cobbler Cardstock. Cut this flower out using your Paper Snips. Remember to rotate the cardstock and not your scissors for the best results.
  7. Using a scrap of the Merry Moments DSP with the opposite side facing to what you used earlier, to 2 cm wide. Use the Banner Triple Punch to punch a banner, trim the length to size.
  8. Stamp the Tis The Season stamp from the Reason for the Season Stamp Set using the new Basic Black Archival Ink Pad onto a scrap of the Thicker Whisper White Cardstock. Trim to 1 cm wide and insert the stamped sentiment in through the TOP of the Banner Punch to create a banner end.
  9. Use a combination of Fast Fuse Adhesive and Stampin Dimensionals, arrange the cut out flower, and the 2 banners onto the central panel as seen in the photo's.
  10. Tie a bow with the Gold Cording Trim and adhere to the sentiment arrangement. And finally add a few Basic Rhinestones to the centre of the Poinsettia.
