Sleigh Ride at Christmas with a Jingle All The Way ...

Good Afternoon to all visiting my Blog Today
I hope you will take the time to read the tutorial, as this is a card that all levels of crafter can make, including those of you that consider yourselves to be novices.
This card gives you drama with a festive feel, and imagine your family and friends opening their Christmas Card from you, and finding your name on the back as the 'designer' of the card!!
I can tell you how it feels, as can all the other paper crafters out there, ... it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
For the novices out there, I have this analogy for you ...
Just think of how you feel when you bake a special occasion cakes (including cupcakes) for one or more members of your family, or friends. You watch with bated breath as they take that first bite of the cake, and watch for that 'sigh' and hmmm sound that just says 'wonderful' ... I bet that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?
Card making (or papercraft in general) is a very personal way of telling people that you care, and are prepared to go that extra mile to create something unique for them
Your card etc doesn't have to be perfect, just as you love your child's or grandchildrens paintings,
I do hope that makes sense? If you want a heads up, there are bound to be experienced crafters out there, just like me, that run classes to show you the basic skills ... and yes it is a skill,
People get hung up on 'I'm not creative' ...  but here is the thing, ... you don't have to be! Once you are equipped with the basic skills and tools, you can begin experimenting. There are lots of 'templates' that can guide you on how to structure your card, and Pinterest is a great place to start.
For examply, my Pinterest boards include Card Templates, Scrapbook Templates, Papercraft Techniques, Colour Combo's etc ... so there are lots of resources available to you to help you as your skills grow,
Not everyone is happy for you to copy their design, although many are happy for you to do so, so long as you credit that person and link to their blog/pinterest board /facebook page etc
The Term for this is called CASING ...
this means Copy & Paste Everything
Me ... I am happy for people to CASE away ... as I believe that if copying one of my designs, helps someone else on their creative journey, then I am happy. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside when people want to copy something I have made
So come on folks .... give it a go

Tutorial

  1. Begin by making your card base by trimming a piece if Thicker Whisper White Cardstock to 21 cms x 14.8 cms; Score the 21 cms side at 10.5 cms using either your Scoring Tool or the scoring blade on your Stampin Trimmer; Fold along the score line and run your Bone Folder along the fold to create a crisp edge
  2. Trim  a piece of Elegant Eggplant Cardstock to 14.4cms  x 10.1 cms; apply a couple of strips of Fast Fuse Adhesive (or Tombow) to the back of the panel and mount onto your card base
  3. Trim a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 14 cms x 13.7 cms; Punch the top section of the cardstock using the Confetti Stars Punch; use a little Tombow Liquid Glue to the back and mount on top of the card front.
  4. Trim a piece of Perfect Plum Cardstock to 13.7 cms x 6cms; using your Big Shot with the magnetic platform (for best results) die cut the Houses Die from the Sleigh Ride Edgelits. Mount this onto your card front, allowing the houses to be just reaching the stars.
  5. Trim a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 13.7 cms x 5cms, and die cut this using the Tree Edgelit Die from the Sleigh Ride Dies; mount this onto your card base using Fast Fuse or Tombow, with the trees silhouetted by the Perfect Plum cardstock.
  6. Stamp your sentiment from the Jingle All The Way Stamp Set onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock using Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink Pad.  (this stamp set can also be purchased as part of a Bundle with the co-ordinating Edgelits Dies with a 15% saving)
  7. Sponge a whisper of Elegant Eggplant ink over the stamped image; Trim to size using your Stampin Trimmer, add a couple of Dimensionals to the back of the label. Run a strip of Fast Fuse along the back of the label (between the 2 Dimensionals (foam pads).; Wind some Silver Cording Trim around 2 fingers 3 or 4 times and attach asymmetrically to the back of the label, so the cording is visible once mounted onto your card front; Place a Stampin Dimensional to the back of a Winter Wonderland Embellishment & place by the edge of the label & Cording Trim.
Now it is over to you, so please CASE away
